Ninjacart’s very own Tech Wizard: Syed Arifulla Badshah
“For me, learning has taken place at a broad level at Ninjacart. It has helped me experience daily challenges, address them patiently, and work on them with confidence. Speed is our superpower. We keep building solutions and, at times we succeed, at times we fail. But when we fail, we fail fast and recover faster. And this is the best part about working at Ninjacart.”

Ninjacart – My journey
I pursued my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science. I have demonstrated my learning and expertise in various domains like telecommunication, medical research management, etc. My professional journey has witnessed various phases of gaining vast knowledge as an engineer, and a product manager. I have gathered an experience of 17 years, which adds to my journey of learning from everywhere possible.
When I was considering moving to a different organization when I was introduced to Ninjacart by an ex-colleague. My long underlying inclination of implementing tech into agriculture pushed me over the edge and I joined Ninjacart.
Leadership and Decision-Making – The Ninja Way
Syed often says, “Leadership is more of EQ and less of IQ”.
In Ninjacart, I have had ample opportunities to be a good people’s manager and establish great tools and processes. An amazing part about working here is the flexibility that you get endowed with. You work, learn, and move on.
The initial three months were the toughest times for me at Ninjacart. But then, everything fell into place, once people bestowed their trust upon me. I have always believed that one should lead by example and come up as a situational leader, as no one is a fixed leader. Whoever has the right skill set should be brought to the fore. As a leader, it’s your responsibility to support them to drive the cause, irrespective of their education and experience. You have to motivate people to do it.
For pursuing any leadership position, you have to be assertive. No matter what the problem is and what solution you drive out of it, in the end, it’s all about achieving the business goals. My decisions are always dependent on how fast I can give something to the organization and what is the maximum benefit I can give to the organization. And how is it going to impact the organization? Also, you must have high standards for quality. I always keep in mind to deliver the best that I can.
Growing in the Ninjacart culture
I really like the work culture here at Ninjacart. People genuinely care for each other. And when people get that ‘bro feeling’ for each other, it means you are professional yet have a very close bond with the other person. You go the extra mile to help them. People take ownership of their tasks and have that entrepreneurial approach towards everything.
The culture has evolved, and being a part of it feels great. We are trying to instil a work-life balance in people, respecting people and their time. This is just not by words, but I am really seeing it happen. When you are a part of a change, you need to give it time and see it happen. Ninjacart, as an organization, has proved to stand out well for me.
My version of work-life balance
I always believe that one should plan his or her day in a very proper manner and should also abide by it. I am an outdoor guy and I try to use my weekends as effectively as possible. I make sure to keep doing my extracurricular activities because that helps me function efficiently. Also, in a day I make sure to spend at least 30-40 minutes, doing what I love apart from work.
I love travelling as it brings a different joy to me. I have travelled to almost twelve to thirteen countries, which includes some of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. Alongside, I love various outdoor activities like yoga and meditation and the best part is, I am a certified trainer in progress.
I am also a keen lover of music. These days I have picked up another skill of playing musical instruments. I have been learning Ukulele for a couple of months and to be honest, I am thoroughly enjoying the process.
“The best part about working at Ninjacart is the value that we are adding to a farmer’s life. Farmers are finally ending up doing what they actually should do and what they are good at, instead of wandering here and there. I am glad that we have bridged that gap. Our solutions are designed in a way that they don’t spend time doing non-core activities. “
