An Unexpected Career
I used to feel very demotivated about my career because despite holding a degree, I wasn’t getting any decent job. But, an unexpected call from a career consultant changed my life. I had walked into an interview for a customer support role but walked out of it as an HR Intern, a role that suited me better. Thus started my career as a Recruiter in Ninjacart.

When I joined in 2018, I didn’t have any knowledge about Human Resource Management, as I come from a Commerce background. Expectedly, the first few months were a little difficult. It took me a while, but I learnt the ropes soon, thanks to my incredible managers. From Sourcing & Screening of job applicants to Salary Negotiation, I undertook all the steps related to onboarding talent. I have explored multiple functions like HR Operations, Payroll, etc at Ninjacart. My managers gave me the responsibility to conduct hiring in Tier 1 and 2 cities, which allowed me to travel the length and breadth of India. My seniors always pushed me to be a better person. The boost in confidence that I got from Ninjacart will help me survive anywhere. This experience has made me fall in love with Ninjacart.
Touching Farmers’ Lives
I feel proud of the work I do because the company supports farmers and agriculture students. Ninjacart is making a difference in farmers’ lives by helping them sell their produce. We adopt fair practices to get them the best price for their harvest. From a recruiter’s perspective, I have recently taken so many interviews where I placed and hired people from farming backgrounds in Ninjacart. So, I feel a sense of achievement that I am making a difference in a farmers’ life and the community in general.

Taking on Challenges
My role at Ninjacart gives me a lot of challenges. Not only do I get to work on assigned roles like recruitment, but my manager also gives me free hand to work on new projects like — OKR, KPI, Field recruitment, ATS tool, hiring and giving more opportunities to women in the field, etc. So far, I have succeeded in doing it.
My managers, Kenneth and Jessie, have always created a safe place for failure and success. They let me figure things out for myself and conduct my operations as per my comfort. Whenever I faced difficulty, they were always there to rectify and share the feedback to smoothen everything. At Ninjacart, your supervisors always show the right path to success.

Finding Joy at Ninjacart
Everything brings me joy at Ninjacart, it’s a fun and happy workplace to be in. Our new initiatives, new processes and projects, meeting new people every day, understanding departments’ processes, everything that makes up my job, excites me.
Recently, what brought me joy was figuring out innovative ways to conduct my job when the Covid-19 outbreak happened. We launched virtual interviews, and then we launched ‘COVID Benefits’ and ‘COVID Passes’ where we helped candidates get placed and took other stakeholders’ help in the hiring of the field executives.
Also, one of the most joyful things I did was to call and cajole all our employees to take the Covid-19 vaccine as per the COVID drive we conducted through our company. Contributing to their health on such a personal level made me very happy and gave me a sense of accomplishment.
No Effort Goes Unrewarded
The supervisors and the management are friendly and approachable. We have the freedom to present our perspectives. While they educate us and nourish our skills, they are always ready to take suggestions from the juniors. With their leadership, it feels good to work here. Working at Ninjacart has helped me grow and develop my career. The management recognizes your efforts and gives awards and other benefits.
